Growing Up Without a Father: My Struggles with Authority and Bitterness

I dislike it when people mention their fathers. It bothers me when my friends say things like ‘I’ll ask my dad’ or ‘My dad thinks.’ I resent it because I’ve never experienced fatherly love, and I struggle with taking orders from men because I feel like they have no right to do so. All of this has made me bitter, and unfortunately, I can do nothing about it.

  1. That sucks. No doubt the importance of fatherhood can’t be underestimated. But what a father would tell you is every significant experience you go through and major thoughts you take on that situation either make you bitter or better.

Try hooking up with a quasi father figure who could still give some fatherly counsel.
