For most of my adult life I have never told any of my siblings about my retirement plans. I turned fifty eight this year and things were looking incredibly wonderful for me to do it. Years of investing and a few really lucky investments had me set for it so I pulled the trigger so to speak and a few of my siblings just found out I have been retired since June.
WAIT! WHAT! said my oldest sister, you are still in your fifties, how did you manage to do that!!??

Nope, it was true they found out after I told them I would be out of the country for a few weeks and coming back after my birthday. The whole family has taken it as a shock that I am retired.
