I went to a company party for the first time, though I’ve worked at my job for many years. I knew many of the people that were present but not their significant others. When I was looking around to see who I knew I noticed one of the guests looking at me. For a moment we made eye contact and I was immediately attracted. He was an older gentleman with salt and pepper hair. Something about him just gave off this dominant vibe. I was drawn to him and I don’t typically feel attracted to men right away. I’m not sure how long we were looking at each other before I realized he was seated beside a woman I highly respect and care for.
I instantly went to her and embraced her, telling her how much I missed working with her. She then introduced me to the man sitting beside her as her husband. I was embarrassed and hoped she didn’t notice that I had just been checking her husband out. After the event was getting to end, I said my goodbyes. My coworker’s husband had approached me. He wrapped his hand on my neck and pulled me in close to whisper in my ear. He said he wanted to thank me for a collectible I gave his wife that I was trying to get rid of.
I liked the idea of someone being a little aggressive but needed to put some distance between myself and my favorite coworker’s husband. The memory makes me wonder if he was feeling the same attraction.
