Many years ago they sold a self defence weapon that fired tear gas. I don’t think it was very effective. The idea you would fire at the chest of your attacker temporarily immobilize him with tear gas and you run away before he could recover.
I carried it on me at all times. One day I left it on a table at a friends and his father stupidly fired it. It startled him and he got mad at me. I think it was his fault because why fire it and it wasn’t his in the first place.
I got another round for the pen gun and one day some dogs were behind a fence barking at us. Out of nowhere my friend grabbed my pen gun and fired it at the dogs who stopped barking. Before you do something stupid like that you’re supposed to ask the owner if you can do it. You don’t just grab the thing.
They quit making them and its just as well. I doubt if they were really that effective.
