My wife started a job as a carer for a home last year. She enjoyed her job looking after mostly retired gentleman at the home.
After 2 months in the job, her boss became abusive and raising his voice at her if he felt something she did, was not to his liking. Over the next few months my wife became unusually quiet and going to bed early.
A friend of mine who was one of the residents at the home contacted me and reported that he did see her and her boss standing naked together in the communal shower with some of the male residents all washing together and wanted me to know if I knew about this going on. This evidently coerced some of the residents to group shower as it was difficult to get some of them into the shower.
I was so shocked at what I heard. The thought of my wife and her boss naked with other residents in the care home communal showers made me sick to the stomach.
I addressed this with my wife that same evening who broke down and said she was being abused at the home for the last 8 months, and did not want to lose her job. I told her to not go back and furthermore laid charges against her boss and I’m happy to say the institution has been since closed down.
To add insult to injury evidently her boss had cameras in the bathrooms. My wife has been receiving counselling for the last 6 months.
